description: OKI's Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is the short-range portion of the OKI regional Long Range Plan (LRP). All federally-funded or regionally-significant transportation projects in the OKI region are included in the TIP or LRP. TIP projects have funding commitments and at least one phase programmed within the next four years. Typically, OKI adopts a new TIP every two years, however TIP's are periodically updated with amendments. TIP projects have met federal requirements for transportation air quality conformity. This TIP_L feature class includes TIP projects that are best displayed as a line. Examples of project types in this feature class include new roads, widening of existing roads, and road maintenance. Some TIP projects are not mappable and include studies, line items, countywide maintenance projects, and transit operating funds. OKI's Long Range Transportation Plan (LRP) includes all transportation projects in the OKI region that are recommended by OKI's Board of Directors and anticipate utilizing federal funds within the next 20-30 years. OKI's LRP must maintain a minimum 20-year planning horizon. No specific funding commitment has been made for these projects, however funding availability can reasonably be expected based on fiscal projections. LRP projects have met federal requirements for transportation air quality conformity. Other names for an LRP are the Regional Transportation Plan or Metropolitan Transportation Plan. OKI is required to adopt a new LRP every four years, however LRP's may periodically by updated with amendments. This LRP_L feature class includes LRP projects that are best displayed as a line. Examples of project types in this feature class include new roads, widening of existing roads, and road maintenance.
